Podcasts From Apple & Spotify Now Available On Amazon Echo

Amazon Echo devices can now play Apple Podcasts, that is as long as you live in the US. Hopefully though, like Apple Music support, this feature will roll out to other countries soon.

Previously, the Apple HomePod was the only smart speaker device that supported playback from Apple Podcasts, but now, with this Amazon announcement, there is speculation that other companies such as Google will eventually also offer the feature.

There’s also good news if you don’t use Apple Podcasts. Spotify also announced that you can now play podcasts on Echo devices. Again, initially only available in the US but hopefully coming to other countries soon, getting access to your favourite podcast, such as Double Tap Canada, should now be easier than ever.

Here’s a guide from Apples support page on how to set up the service.

Set up Apple Podcasts with Alexa

  1. Open the Amazon Alexa app, then tap the menu button in the upper-left corner.
  2. Tap Skills & Games and search for the Apple Podcasts skill.
  3. Tap Enable to Use.
