iOS14 Gets A Pat On The Back

A new accessibility feature coming in iOS14 is getting a lot of attention from people, even those without disabilities.

The new ‘Back Tap’ feature can be found under Touch, in the Accessibility settings. Once enabled, you are able to either double tap or triple tap anywhere on the back of the phone to trigger a chosen action such as open control centre, app switcher, take a screenshot, open a shortcut, increase or decrease volume etc.

Currently, there are 23 actions you can choose from and you can even use Back Tap if your device is in a case.

At this point in the iOS14 beta program, Back Tap is only available on the iPhone 10 onwards, but this may change as the OS develops. The public beta of iOS14 will be available next month and will be available to everyone in September.
