AIRA Service Offers Free Daily Access

The popular service that connects blind and partially sighted people to a trained agent to help them in their daily lives is now free – terms and conditions apply.

The US company has announced the decision earlier than planned and will now be offering five minutes of daily access to the AIRA service every day free of charge, although it should be noted that charges would apply once those five minutes are up.

The news has excited many on social media and will no doubt prove a popular option for subscribers although the company is keen to stress that even if you have no plan or subscription with AIRA you can still benefit from the free daily access.

AIRA is currently available in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and has just concluded its pilot program in the United Kingdom with hopes that the service will launch there soon.

The service is also available for free at many AIRA Access locations, including many airports around the world.

I am an absolute geek who loves technology. I also happen to be severely sight impaired and that has meant my journey with new technology has been challenging. What I've learnt is what I want to share with others and I do that on air in the UK on RNIB Connect Radio's weekly Tech Talk radio show and podcast, and on AMI-Audio's Double Tap Canada radio show and podcast. I'm also a very lucky husband and the owner of the world's coolest dog!
